Defining Physical Literacy
Physical literacy is more than just being active.
It’s about having the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding to move well—and enjoy doing it—throughout life.
It’s the foundation that helps us walk, run, jump, lift, balance, stretch, and play safely and effectively. Just like we develop reading and writing skills, we can build physical skills that carry us through daily life and all stages of movement.
